Friends and Relatives:
Still more to show and tell from Banos del Inca.
1. This cave was near llancanora, which was a 7km walk from our hostal. Carbon dating indicates that people lived in it 2,000 years ago. There are some pictographs painted on rocks in the area as well.
2. Waterfall near llancanora.
3. We took a microbus to Otuzco to see the Ventanillas. Ventana means window. These "windows" were holes about 2 feet high, wide and deep. They were used for burial. People were buried sitting up and scrunched together. The local indigenous people are very short in stature (mostly less than 5' tall), and were probably even shorter 1,000 years ago when the tombs were carved.
4. A woman in Otuzco saddling up her horse. No idea how she would ever get on it.
